A Beautiful Hell
So much has been going on since the first day I backed myself into a corner last Spring, and announced publicly (on the radio, no less) that I would finish the book and get it to the publisher. So much, in fact, that I almost forgot entirely about the web site devoted to the book until I visited it today.
Feels like a hundred years ago already.
I have to admit, too, that the preparation surrounding that site and this one, the creating all the different ad spaces, the getting the book to the Kindle™, the back-and-forth with the publishing process…though, frustrating at times, has definitely been a good time.
I have loved creating the design work for the book and both sites…ah, and the Twitter page.
But’s it’s truly my hope to move things to a place satisfying enough (to me) that I can relax on getting it perfect (note: I will never relax on getting it perfect), and get down to the better business of writing on the blog every day, preparing cartoons (old and new), and starting work on the second book in the Waltzing in Perdition Chronicles.
I really look forward to a growing dialogue with all of you and the chance to hear how the stories and the photography and the cartoons are coming across. I’d love to saw a few more things, but Cute Redhead and I just renegotiated: She’ll clean the kitchen if I put the Princess of Space, Time, and Dimension to bed and read her book with her.
I said I would, much to the Princess’ joy.
That is, on the condition that those teeth are flossed.
Suddenly, not so joyous.
But that’s how it is around here…you want a bedtime story, I wanna see those teeth flossed!
