Summer’s Last Stand
I watched them take an old swing set slide into consideration for about twenty seconds. In less than one minute they came up with this.
Then it turned into who could make the biggest splash.
And then suddenly they were gone. The laughing had ceased, the yelling and screaming had stopped, and it occurred to me I better go check on the little posse because there’s never anything more dangerous than total silence when you’re outnumbered.
And then I found them perpetuating that most ancient, and time-honored of summer traditions: baking on hot concrete.
No video games. No TV. Certainly no internet.
I want the 70′s back.

the 70s were a lot more simple times, weren’t they? heck, i know some ppl would say i was crazy, but i wouldn’t mind the early to mid 80′s back either. hehe :0)
came via dad blogs
Hmm…the early 80′s, huh? Well…considering that was when I graduated from high school, I can’t say that’s such a bad idea a–wait a second. What about the 80′s hair? Do we have to bring that too?
